Live @ The Tent : Skinny Boys

Last Friday The Tent hosted one of the new emerging bands 'Skinny Boys'. Yes! You read that right last Friday... right on... head to head with the Metallica concert... Oh well the almost concert. Now of course we are not insinuating that the competition got too hot for someone... But then there were a few tongues wagging about that... Naughty! Naughty! We said to that ^_^

Anyway enough about the probabilities and down to the realities... So the Skinny Boys were playing after a break of a few months, minus their lead guitarist Lanu. But for those of us who were wondering if the band would have the same kick as before, boy were we blown off our feet!!!

The band was in fine form, Lima breaking out of her shy girl image to get the crowd going with some fine chatter, Kaisa slapping the bass (she was on fire that evening, even breaking a string), Mamu sliding all over her guitar to the point of bleeding and getting the crowd involved with her clapping on Pumped Up Kicks, and Do'katchi after a sedate start got warmed up and by the end was too hot to handle (thank God, the neighbors held on without complaints).

We were initially pleasantly and later little worriedly surprised with the number of people who walked in. The Tent was bursting at its seams. But then 'The more the merrier' as the saying goes.

All in all it was a great night, the second Live @ The Tent event made special by the Skinny Boys and all the people who attended.

We are looking forward to many more Live @ The Tent events, and hope to see more great performances and ever increasing audiences.

Live @ The Tent

Today The Tent is hosting the second it series of Live @ The Tent events. The Tent is looking to feature emerging music acts in this event. Last week Live @ The Tent featured the Angelo Daimari Band (https://www.facebook.com/AngeloDaimariMusic) with their mix of Bluesy Soulful music, along with performances by BK an emerging Rapper from the band Toxic Nectar and Lima.

This week we have the very exciting all girls band Skinny Boys (https://www.facebook.com/pages/SkiNNy-bOYs-Band/158162574220301) being featured in Live @ The Tent. Skinny Boys are an emerging band, who are steadily building a fan following in the Delhi circuit with the punchy alternative and punk rock influenced sounds. Also featured with them on what turns out to be an all girls night @ The Tent, will be Barbara Leivang and Charishma Jones.

Looking forward to a great evening here... Watch out for more updates from The Tent....

It is designed to be a home away from home by offering a place for you to hang out with your friends over coffee, or just curl-up with your laptop and enjoy our free wifi or play one of the many games stacked in some corner. You could even slip into a quieter room if it is free and do some homework. You must grab the cakes before they are gone especially a piece of the day’s special and definitely try out our other yummy specialties and brewed coffees as well.
